What's the difference between a DJ Night and a Band Night?
DJ nights are a relaxed night of dancing, fun and chat. One of our resident DJ's will be playing a mix of music from modern to old, some you will have heard at classes and some different ones, but all the tunes have a great beat to dance to.
These nights are a bit more relaxed than the band nights, with normally 30-40 people attending, so they are perfect if you want to dance your socks off, have a little practice in the corner or just chat and have a dance now and then.
You can dress casually, smart whichever you feel most comfortable in.
Free tea and coffee will be available, but feel free to bring your own alcohol, soft drinks and nibbles.
Band nights happen monthly and are our showcase nights where all our classes come together for a night of live music and dancing. Again we have music from one of our resident DJ’s, but the main focus is the live music from the fabulous rock and roll bands we book.
These are nights where most people dress up so you can go super glam if you want to, but equally casual is fine if you want to keep it low key.
Normally 80-100 people attend form all our classes so it is a great way to meet and dance with other Coolmovers and dancers.
There is a bar available, so please do not bring your own drinks or nibbles.
If you are a new beginner dance or are slightly nervous about getting asked to dance at one of these events, don't worry everyone is really friendly and non-judgemental, however if you are still too nervous then a polite refusal is perfectly acceptable.
